O Ganga Behti Rehna

Pustaknama Publication

Writing for the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) offered me the unique opportunity to immerse myself in the life and essence of our national river, the Ganga. The Ganga is more than just a river; it is a timeless muse, a divine flow that captivates the soul and awakens a deep sense of spirituality. While I could easily lose myself in describing the wonders of this majestic river, I must turn our attention to the book that emerged from my time spent beside its sacred waters.

‘O Ganga Behti Rehna’ is a coffee table book, a collection of poems through which I have endeavored to capture our profound emotional connection with the Ganga. This book was unveiled during the Namami Gange annual event, 'Ganga Utsav 2021,' by Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the then Hon'ble Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of India; Shri Pankaj Kumar, the then Secretary of the Jal Shakti Ministry; and Shri Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, the then Director General of NMCG. The introduction, penned by Shri Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, the then DG, NMCG, is complemented by a heartfelt congratulatory message from Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the then Hon'ble Minister of Jal Shakti, GoI.

Each poem in ‘O Ganga Behti Rehna’ encapsulates the essence of moments and experiences shared by a human soul with the Ganga and its serene banks. The poems are concise, each spanning 4-8 lines, yet they weave an immersive atmosphere with their vivid expressions and evocative language. As you linger on each page, absorbing the depth of a single poem, you are simultaneously drawn to turn to the next, eager to continue your journey along the river's narrative. This book not only guides you along the Ganga's course through its verses but also intersperses tales of the river’s spiritual significance and the places steeped in its history.

Already, ‘O Ganga Behti Rehna’ has resonated with many travelers, artists, documentary makers, and writers, evoking admiration and affection. I am confident that you, the reader, will be equally enchanted by its pages.

Kabhi Socha Hai

Pratima Prakashan

This collection of poems is very close to my heart, encompassing verses I penned when I was as young as 21. What endears this book to me is its thought-provoking yet casually written poetry. These poems are a journey through the tapestry of life, capturing a spectrum of emotions and themes.

The subjects of these poems vary widely, transcending beyond a single theme or issue. They dance around the known and unknown aspects of our mind, soul, and our world and beyond, inviting readers to explore the depths of their own selves, experiences, and imaginations.

Genre: Poetry

I hope you find as much joy and reflection in these pages as I did in writing them. Let these poems take you on a journey, stirring your soul and expanding your mind.
